Everyone knows that you need books to sell in a bookstore. Adding these must be simple and efficient and Basil makes this critical process just that, simple and efficient. Scan the 13-digit EAN or ISBN and Basil will automatically download the title, author, publisher, publish date and retail price for you. No CDs required.
Assign multiple conditions per ISBN at varying price points. Put the same ISBN in several sections of your store to reach the most customers with the same title.
Give buying clerks the right information to make critical inventory purchasing decisions. Basil provides sales information for the title and author of the book being scanned to help determine how well the book will sell in the store. Basil provides the current on hand quantity and the Amazon pricing information for the title including the lowest New, Used and Collector price, the quantity in each of these conditions, the sales rank and the average of the lowest 10 prices. Combined, this information helps the clerk make the correct, well informed inventory decision.
Basil allows for more than one store to be configured for each customer. Each store operates independently and has it's sections, users, sales and customers. Customers do have a default store, but can be accessed easily at other locations in the chain to take advantage of their in-store credit, frequent buyer or customer discounts. There is no synchronization of data, each stores operations can immediately be seen by every other store. If a store searches for a book and sees that it is available, that data can be trusted to be correct. Sales are also reflected immediately so a manager can view sales through out the day for each store by running a simple report.
Barcode every item, barcode some items, or barcode no items, and Basil will work regardless of the choice. You can decide how your inventory is cataloged based on your stores situation and environment.
Receive inventory from publishers and distibutors assigning the appropriate costs per item. Manage any number of vendors and carriers to create invoices against. Assign discounts and cost calculations per vendor, and then override those per invoice or per invoice line. Create return invoices to send product back to the publisher that didn't sell as well as you'd hoped.
